This picture shows a classroom full of pupils. In the corner of the picture we can also see their teacher. This photo was probably taken during a break because all of the kids look relaxed and the also seem to be talking to each other. Some of the kids decided to stretch their legs. They are close to the window. Next to them there is their teacher, explaining something to the little girl in front of her. It looks like the woman is helping her student. On the right side of the picture we see a boy with headphones on his head. He chose to relax between lessons listening to music. I think it’s a great way to unwind but also, by doing that, the boy looses contact with his classmates. In this picture there is also another young boy who draws the strongest attention. It’s the boy in the fourth row, who smiles at the camera. He seems to be very happy – maybe he knows the photographer? Or maybe he did or said something funny? It seems like this boy is actually paying attention to what is going on around him because he noticed the photographer. There is another boy, in the first row, who might also noticed the mysterious person at the back of the classroom. But unlike the smiling boy, he seems to be shocked by photographer’s presence.

Another thing you can notice straight away is the big blackboard on the wall and these colorful flowers made of paper. Unfortunately, this picture isn’t bright enough so we can’t see what exactly is written on the blackboard. One thing is sure: the lessons are probably conducted in a very friendly manner.

Being friendly and understanding is very important in teacher’s profession, especially if the teacher conducts lessons with small children. Kids around six or seven should be treated rightfully and accordingly to their age. It’s difficult to explain to such a child math or physics. In the first years of school education kids should learn, how to interact with each other or with the teacher. They have to to know basic things about society, their surroundings and the world.

But that's not all. I strongly believe that, especially in a primary school, kids need to be convinced that learning, reading and gaining knowledge is a great fun. They have to feel this passion for learning, studying and discovering all the wonderful things that surround us. But to succeed in this, we should have some very good teachers, who are passionate about their work and can grow this love for learning in the children's minds.

As for the next question – is it better for children to learn at school or at home? – I have to say that I’m hundred percent certain first option is the only good way. I know there are parents who decided not to send their kid to school because of their job, constant moving etc., but I would never do that. School, as a whole, has some disadvantages – like bad teachers, bad organization or atmosphere – but it prepares kids for real adult life. They interact with other students, make friends, share opinions. They see that sometimes not everything is 'cool' and there are real problems they have to face.

Learning at home is safer, calmer and certainly gives better results but it doesn’t give a chance to experience all of the good things school has to offer. And let’s remember that the school consists not only of children. Parents, teachers, headmasters – all of these people make school what it is. It’s a joined responsibility, so if bad things happen, we should take an action and change the situation for the better. School is fun.

Ten obrazek przedstawia klasę wypełnioną uczniami. W rogu tej fotografii możemy również zobaczyć nauczycielkę. To zdjęcie zostało prawdopodobnie zrobione podczas przerwy, ponieważ wszystkie dzieci wyglądają na zrelaksowane i rozmawiają ze sobą. Niektóre z dzieci zdecydowały się rozprostować nogi. Znajdują się blisko okna. Obok nich nauczycielka wyjaśnia coś małej dziewczynce, która siedzi w ławce przed nią. Wygląda na to, że nauczycielka pomaga dziewczynce. Po prawej stronie widzimy chłopaka ze słuchawkami na uszach. Zdecydował się on zrelaksować spomiędzy lekcjami przy muzyce. Sądzę, że to świetny sposób, aby odprężyć, ale robiąc to chłopak traci kontakt ze swoimi kolegami z klasy. Na tym zdjęciu znajduje się również inny chłopak, który przyciąga najsilniejszą uwagę. To uśmiechający się do aparatu chłopak, siedzący w czwartym rzędzie. Wygląda na bardzo szczęśliwego – może zna fotografa? A może zrobił albo powiedział coś zabawnego? Wydaje się, że chłopak zwraca uwagę na to, co dookoła się niego dzieje, ponieważ zauważył autora zdjęcia. Na zdjęciu jest jeszcze jeden chłopak, w pierwszym rzędzie, który mógł zauważyć tajemniczą osobą na końcu klasy. Ale w odróżnieniu od śmiejącego się chłopca wydaje się być zaskoczony obecnością fotografa.

Inną rzeczą, jaką można od razu zauważyć, jest duża czarna tablica na ścianie oraz te kolorowe kwiatki zrobione z papieru. Niestety zdjęcie nie jest zbyt jasne, więc nie możemy zobaczyć, co dokładnie jest napisane na tablicy. Jedna rzecz jest pewna: lekcje są prawdopodobnie prowadzone w bardzo przyjacielskiej atmosferze.

Jednak to nie wszystko. Sądzę, że szczególnie w szkole podstawowej dzieci muszą zostać przekonane, że nauka, czytanie oraz zdobywanie wiedzy, to świetną zabawą. Muszą poczuć pasję do nauki, studiowania i odkrywania wszystkich cudownych rzeczy, jakie nas otaczają. Ale żeby odnieść tu sukces, najpierw musimy mieć bardzo dobrych nauczycieli, którzy są pasjonatami swojej pracy i potrafią wzbudzić w umysłach dzieci miłość do nauki.

Jeżeli chodzi o następne pytanie – czy lepiej jest, żeby dzieci uczyły się w szkole niż w domu? – muszę powiedzieć, że na sto procent pierwsza opcja to jedyne dobre wyjście. Wiem, że są rodzice, którzy zdecydowali nie posyłać swojego dziecka do szkoły z powodu pracy, ciągłych przeprowadzek itp., ale ja bym tak nie zrobiła. Szkoła, jako całość, ma pewne wady jak – np. źli nauczyciele, zła organizacja albo atmosfera – ale to przygotowuje dzieci do prawdziwego, dorosłego życia. Dzieci integrują się z innymi uczniami, znajdują przyjaciół, wymieniają opinie. Czasami widzą, że nie wszystko jest „OK” i że istnieją problemy, z którymi muszą się zmierzyć.

Nauka w domu jest bezpieczniejsza, spokojniejsza i na pewno przynosi lepsze rezultaty, ale nie daje dzieciom szansy zdobycia tego doświadczenia, jakie oferuje szkoła. Musimy też pamiętać, że szkoła składa się nie tylko z dzieci. Rodzice, nauczyciele, dyrekcja – wszyscy ci ludzie tworzą szkołę taką, jaka ona jest. To wspólna odpowiedzialność, więc jeżeli dzieje się coś złego, powinniśmy podjąć jakieś działanie i zmienić sytuacją na lepszą. Szkoła jest fajna.
