On Tuesday, June 27th, I was driving home. I took the M5 road, as usually. Due to the rain, while driving I never extended the speed over 40 MPH. And I would have reached home safely if it wasn’t for the careless driver behind me. He must have been thinking that driving a BMW behind a Ford Fiesta is a dishonour. Regardless of the weather conditions and the traffic, he started to increase the speed in order to overtake me. I sided to the right as much as I could, so I could enable the impatient BMW driver to pass me.

I was rather confident he knew what he was doing. He changed the lane and started overtaking me. Unfortunately, he must have missed a car on that lane. He rapidly turned back onto 'our' lane. He didn’t quite make it into the empty space and hit my right back side. My car, due to this hit, got turned over 90 degrees and ended up standing aslant on the road. The BMW lined up with my car due to the hit it got from the back. After the first shock has passed away I stepped out of the car and started yelling at the careless driver. I called the police and emergency road service.

We wtorek, 27. czerwca jechałem do domu. Jak zwykle drogą M5. Przez deszcz nie przekraczałem prędkości 40 mil na godzinę (ok. 65km/h). I dotarłbym bezpiecznie do domu, gdyby nie nieostrożny kierowca za mną. Musiał sobie myśleć, że jechanie BMW za Fordem Fiesta to jakiś dyshonor. Bez względu na pogodę i ruch na drodze zaczął przyspieszać, by mnie wyprzedzić. Zjechałem najbardziej na prawo, jak się dało, żeby mu to ułatwić.

Byłem dość pewien, że wie co robi. Zmienił pas i zaczął wyprzedzanie. Niestety musiał mu umknąć ten samochód na drugim pasie. Gwałtownie wrócił na „nasz” pas. Nie całkiem zmieścił się w wolne miejsce i uderzył mnie w prawą tylną stronę. Mój samochód, przez to uderzenie, obrócił się o 90 stopni i w efekcie stał skośnie na jezdni. BMW stanęło równolegle po uderzeniu w tył. Po tym, jak pierwszy szok minął, wyszedłem z auta i zacząłem krzyczeć na nieostrożnego kierowcę. Zadzwoniłem po policję i pomoc drogową.
