Nowadays contacting through the Internet has become a really popular and easy way to stay in touch with our family and friends. Text messengers, voice or video communicators are available on the web. But can all that replace a face to face conversation? In my opinion – no.

To start with, helpful as it may seem, internet contact can also set off a conflict. When writing a text message one can neither see the facial expression of the person they talk to nor hear the way they speak. This may lead to serious misunderstandings and arguments as a result. Secondly, even though it is a quick and simple way to maintain contact, it is hard to express one's emotions and subtle gestures that are sometimes important in a conversation. What is more, even video communicators cannot substitute a real talk as one can see only a part of the other person's body and thus they are unable to see their body language which is essential.

Furthermore, when talking through the Internet with a loved one, they are incapable of hugging or kissing the other person which is significant, I believe. Moreover, the online talks do not feel as much personal and intimate as the usual ones do. Smiling to an image on the screen is a really poor replacement of a personal contact with others.  

All in all, online contact is an easy way to stay in touch with one's friends and loved ones. Nevertheless, to me, it can never substitute a real conversation with another person. W dzisiejszych czasach kontaktowanie się przez Internet stało się bardzo popularnym i łatwym sposobem na utrzymanie kontaktu z naszą rodziną i przyjaciółmi. Komunikatory tekstowe, głosowe czy wideo są dostępne w sieci. Ale czy to wszystko może zastąpić rozmowę twarzą w twarz? Moim zdaniem nie.

By zacząć, przydatny jak może się wydawać, internetowy kontakt może być przyczyną konfliktów. Pisząc wiadomości na komunikatorze tekstowym nie widzimy ani wyrazu twarzy drugiej osoby, ani nie słyszymy jej tonu głosu. To może prowadzić do poważnych nieporozumień i w wyniku – kłótni. Po drugie, mimo że jest to szybka i łatwa metoda utrzymania kontaktu, ciężko jest wyrazić emocje i subtelne gesty, które czasem są bardzo ważne podczas konwersacji. Co więcej, nawet komunikatory wideo nie są w stanie zastąpić prawdziwej rozmowy, gdyż widzimy tylko część ciała drugiej osoby i w wyniku nie widzimy jej języka ciała, który jest ważny.

Ponadto rozmawiając przez Internet z ukochaną osobą nie można przytulić ani pocałować tej drugiej osoby, co jest znaczące, moim zdaniem. Co więcej, rozmowy online nie wydają się dawać poczucia osobistości i intymności, jak ma to miejsce w zwykłej rozmowie. Uśmiechanie się do obrazu na ekranie to marny substytut prawdziwego kontaktu z innymi.

Podsumowując, łączność w sieci jest łatwą drogą, by zostać w kontakcie z przyjaciółmi i ukochanymi osobami. Niemniej, dla mnie, nigdy nie zastąpi on prawdziwej rozmowy z drugą osobą.
